    Welcome!

    Hello. My name is April Lucas and I am proud to be a teacher at Auxier Elementary School. My husband and I have three children. When I am not at school I love being with my family. I enjoy baking, reading, hiking, paddle boarding, and doing puzzles.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I began my teaching career in 1998 after receiving my degree in education from NAU. I can honestly say that I LOVE teaching. I have taught several different grade levels, including kindergarten, first grade, second grade, fifth grade, and sixth grade. Every day is new, exciting, and challenging. I know that every day I come to school I will see smiling faces ready to laugh and learn!

    My Educational Philosophy

    It is my philosophy that all children have the right to learn in a safe and loving environment. Every child deserves to be valued and respected. With high expectations, support, and teamwork it is my goal that every child reaches his/her full potential. Together we are raising children who will one day be adults, it is a huge responsibility and honor. Thank you in advance for your partnership.
