Welcome!

Welcome to Kindergarten! This year you will see tremendous progress in all areas. Children will become fluent readers, published authors and skilled mathematicians with a repertoire of strategies.

My Education and Professional Background

I began teaching in 2002. I spent my first three years at Madison Heights Elementary, an Excelling school nestled at the base of Piestewa Peak. Heights was fortunate to be part of the Milken Family Foundation, which provided weekly teacher leader support, monthly evaluations and extensive professional development. Heights received the Federal Blue Ribbon Award, and I was interviewed by Rod Paige, the Secretary of Education at the time. A marriage and a new home brought me to Gilbert, where I taught second grade for one year at Greenfield Elementary. I have been with the Chandler School District since 2006; I love our school community!

My Educational Philosophy

Every child has a different learning style and pace. Each child is unique, not only capable of learning, but also capable of succeeding.
