Kantzos...
Hello all! Welcome to my website. Here you will find some of the songs and resources from the music classes we have together.
My Education and Professional Background
Alexander is in his first year of teaching after receiving a Bachelor of Music in Music Learning and Teaching from ASU. Alexander has worked with many groups in the Phoenix Area including the Actor's Youth Theatre in Gilbert, for their production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, the Chandler Academy of Performing Arts and Technology, and with the Basha High School Accelerated Middle School; as well as Private Tutoring in Violin and Viola for students and children in the Phoenix Area.
My Educational Philosophy
My educational philosophy is that music and art is essential to the development and education of all children, and it should be applied equally and to everyone. Some of the principles I teach by are: Music should always be a positive experience, Learning is a collective experience, not “person in charge and person following”, Children are inherently musical, All children are at different levels, and that should be accepted AND planned for, As a teacher I am part of the child’s path, The student’s experience is the MOST important, Children are human beings and people, and I am not better than children, Trust is essential to a student’s experience in a classroom, I will never be a perfect teacher, and finally I should always be learning and growing.

Tucker...
Hi! My name is LeAnn Tucker. I am so excited to be your 5th grade Reading and Science teacher. I grew up in a small town in East Tennessee. I lived in Florida for the past 3 years and just relocated to Arizona this summer. I am married and have 3 awesome kids; Kylie, Colton, and Kinley. My favorite things are my family, the beach, coffee, and of course teaching! I love being and teacher and helping my students succeed! I look forward to meeting and getting to know each of you!
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from East Tennessee State University in 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I taught 4th grade Math and Science while I lived in Tennessee. In Florida I taught all subjects in 4th grade for 2 years. I have just started my Master’s degree program for Educational Leadership at the American College of Education.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe education is not a standard for all individuals. I think that is something that looks very different for each and every student. Our job as educators is to find out the different ways each of our students learn and try and implement different strategies and best practices that will help students reach their full academic potential. Building relationships are also a key component to helping your students; knowing their likes and dislikes, what motivates them and what doesn’t. It is important to make sure your students know that you as their teacher truly care about them as a who individual and that they are not just number or a data statistic. While data is important to help establish where students are and what goals to set for them, it does not define them as a person.

Welcome!
I currently live in Gilbert with my wife Kristin and our two sons Jackson and Joshua. When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, hiking, swimming, and getting out on the golf course. I am a loyal Wisconsin Badger, Marquette University, and "World Champion" Green Bay Packer fan.
My Education and Professional Background
I received my undergraduate, graduate, and post-masters certification in school psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Shortly after graduation I packed up all my belongings and moved from Wisconsin to Arizona. In 1996/97, I completed a one-year internship in the Creighton School District (Phoenix, AZ). I have been working in CUSD since 1997. I wouldn't want to work anywhere else.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that all children have the ability to learn given the right resources and proper guidance.

About
Miller...
Hello and welcome to 6th grade! My name is Aly Miller and I so blessed to be your teacher this year. My classroom is my favorite place to be and I absolutely love what I do. We are going to have an amazing adventure in 6th grade this year. In my class you will be explorers, historians, scientists, authors, artists, collaborators, and teammates. We will grow as learners and leaders here in D8. I know each and every one of my students is important, strong, and capable of anything.
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education (Go Sun Devils!) I also hold a certification to teach middle school social studies. I love all things history and I am so lucky that I get to teach my favorite subject. I taught in Mesa Public Schools before coming to Auxier, where I taught 6th grade ELA and social studies.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that every single child is unique and capable. All children learn differently, have varied interests, and offer unique abilities to our group. My goal as an educator is to encourage my students and help all children realize how truly amazing they are. My students will also be encouraged to take responsibility for their learning. I expect my students to take initiative to ask questions, own their mistakes, and reflect on their learning and behavior. The only person responsible for you - is you!
