    Welcome!

    Welcome to Knox 1st Grade! My name is Jill Lewkowski and I am looking forward to a great year! I was born and raised in Oregon and Washington State. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Paul, who is a PE Coach at Sanborn Elementary. I have three grown sons who are all married and two sweet grandchildren! I enjoy traveling, hiking, and reading.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I received my Bachelors in Elementary Education in 1989 from Biola University in La Mirada, CA. In 1992 I earned my Masters in Elementary Education from Concordia University in River Forest, IL. I have endorsements in Structured English Immersion, Early Childhood Education and Library/Media. I began my career in a 3rd grade classroom teaching with the Department of Defense Dependent Schools in Torrejon, Spain! After that special first year, I moved to Chicago and where I taught in Oak Park for four years. Next, I relocated to Oregon for 12 years teaching 1st-4th graders. Finally, for the last 18 years I’ve lived in Chandler and taught at CUSD!

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe my role as a teacher is to encourage and motivate students to be life-long learners. I love inspiring learners through creativity and collaboration to explore their strengths and interests. Through engaging instruction, I strive to positively impact students to thrive, not only at school, but also in the world!
