Welcome!
Hello! My name is Tracy Carlucci and I am excited to be your child's Second Grade Teacher here at Knox Gifted Academy! I am looking forward to a year filled with lots of creative thinking and inspired learning. It is most important that children are having fun and are happy coming to school everyday! I am looking forward to getting to know your child and what inspires them to be their authentic self.
My Education and Professional Background
I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, where I participated in gifted education programs most of my life. I had amazingly passionate teachers who inspired me to develop a true understanding of the power of education.
I moved to Arizona in 1996 and have been teaching and/or counseling for the last 28 years. Educationally, I received my Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Stony Brook University and Graduate Degrees in School Counseling and Gifted Education from St. John's University in New York.
I have two children of my own. My son, Giovanni, is a graduate of the University of Advancing Technology and works in the field of Cybersecurity. My daughter, Joie, is a social media blogger who loves to interact with as many interesting people as possible.
My Educational Philosophy
My philosophy of teaching is a simple one. I refer to it as OTI: Observe, Think, Innovate. I hope to pass this idea onto my students as they develop the skills necessary to become critical listeners, focused scholars, and innovative problem-solvers.
Social-emotional learning is a critical part of the educational success for gifted children and will be a major focus for the second grade team this year. The KGA Knights "RISE" program will integrate Relationships, Imagination, Safety, and Empowerment to ensure that students are reaching their fullest potential.Click to Report a Website Problem
