    Welcome!

    Hello and welcome to 5th grade at KGA! My name is Laura Yockey and I have been teaching since 2004. I look forward to spending this upcoming year nurturing your child to their fullest potential. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband Nelson, my sons Holden and Griffin, and our dog Hannah. My hobbies include running, yoga, and enjoying all Arizona has to offer with my friends and family. I am so excited to be your child's teacher at KGA this year!

    My Educational Philosophy

    A teacher's job is to prepare a community of life-long learners to be productive and empowered citizens, capable of positively impacting and contributing to society. Teachers do this by providing high quality, engaging instruction in an environment that is challenging, safe, and motivating to students. I hope to inspire my students to change the world for the better by always striving to do their best and be their best.
