    Welcome!

    My name is Nina Kruger and I am from Austin, Texas. I am thrilled to have received the opportunity to teach 2nd grade at KGA!

    My Education and Professional Background

    I grew up going to school in the Austin area and taught dance for a few years before attending college. Through those early experiences, I knew I wanted to become a teacher and help to positively change students' lives. I attended Texas State University where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and my Texas Educator Certificate in Early Childhood Education through 6th grade. I started my teaching career at Neidig Elementary School in 2019, where I taught first grade for two years and kindergarten for one year. Last year was my first year here at KGA! I look forward to continuing my teaching career here at Knox Gifted Academy along with all of the new and exciting things to come!

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe that a positive classroom environment where students are in charge of their own learning is necessary for student success. I enjoy having fun in the classroom and I also hold students to high standards and expectations. I promote a growth mindset among students and expect them to try their hardest and strive for improvement every day. I aspire to instill a love and joy for learning in my students so that they become life long learners.
