My Education and Professional Background
Mr. Curran's Educational Background: I received my Bachelor's Degree from ASU in 2004 in Secondary Education. I went on to receive my Yoga Teacher Certification in 2006, and my Master's Degree from NAU in Curriculum and Instruction in 2012. Mr. Curran's Professional Background: I began teaching at Desert Arroyo Middle School in 2004. After working there for two years, I decided I wanted to volunteer in a third world country, so I found my way to a teaching position in the Republic of the Marshall Islands from 2006-07. After returning from the Republic of the Marshall Islands I took my first position in the Chandler Unified School District at Chief Hill Learning Academy from 2008-12. Finally in 2012, I accepted a position at Bogle Junior High School.
My Educational Philosophy
Mr. Curran's educational philosophy: 1) Cooperation is a lifelong skill. 2) Motivation and perseverance are critical attributes to be successful. 3) Personal growth comes from challenging your thinking. 4) Life is NOT fair, but you choose how to respond. 5) Love and Logic: Enhancement of Self-Concept, Shared Control, Consequences with Empathy, and Shared Thinking.
