    Welcome!

    Hello! I am starting my 19th year at Bogle Junior High, although this is my 22nd year teaching in the state. I am an Arizona native and grew up in the East Valley. . In my spare time I enjoy: The Phoenix Suns, going to movies, listening to music, going to concerts and plays, playing percussion, dancing, bowling, racquetball, board games, traveling, and anything else fun. I am in a local indie rock band, called Futurekind.

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe that math is a subject that should be enjoyed through participating in math experiences where meaningful learning takes place. Although some parts of math have to be memorized, most of our math learning comes from exploring math concepts so that we gain a deeper conceptual understanding of what we are doing and of why the traditional algorithms work. Math is not just a subject, but a way of thinking. It's important to help students connect what we learn in math to the useful real-life applications of the concepts.
