Welcome!
Welcome to Kindergarten! I am thrilled to embark on such an important milestone in your child's life, as well as in your lives. I look forward to working together as a team and having a successful year in Kindergarten. Let's Do This!
My Education and Professional Background
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Arizona State University in 2002, and my Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Early Childhood from Northern Arizona University in 2005. I have earned my Early Childhood Education, Reading Specialist, and Structured English Immersion endorsements. I am a Certified Spalding Teacher, completing both Spalding I and Spalding II courses. I have been trained in Thinking Maps and Write From the Beginning.
My Educational Philosophy
My role as a teacher is to be a facilitator and provide enriching activities so that children are supported as they learn about their strengths and work on their weaknesses. Our Kindergarten curriculum provides children with a variety of opportunities to try out new ideas and be challenged by new experiences that engage emerging readers, writers, mathematicians, and so much more. My expectations of my students are high and by the end of the school year, my students realize they can achieve any goal I set before them. It is in this manner that I instill the love of learning and the desire for constant knowledge within my students. I want you to know that I will do everything I can to make your child's kindergarten start and kindergarten year, the best possible. Your involvement, interest, and enthusiasm will help make this a wonderful year of growth for all of us.
