    Welcome!

    Welcome to third-grade! I am so excited to be your teacher this year! We are going to have a great year filled with learning and growth.
    I live in Gilbert with my husband Alex and our three kids Melanie, Drew, and Jamie. I enjoy being outside, swimming, hiking, and snowboarding. I also love to read and play video games with my kids. I can't wait to get to know you!

    My Education and Professional Background

    I received my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix in 2014. After graduating, I spent a few years substitute teaching for the Chandler district until I found my home here at Independence in 2017. I have taught third grade at Independence for four years. I did take a break to be at home with my kiddos but am so excited to be back! I am Spalding trained and have my Structured English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement. 

    My Educational Philosophy

    My goal is to create a warm and welcoming classroom community, where students feel encouraged and safe to take risks and grow! I believe that all my students are capable of great things; I am here to challenge them, foster a love for learning, and create a growth mindset.
