    An amazing journey is about to begin as you enter 4th grade. You have worked hard up to this point. I am looking forward to challenging you, pushing the limits of our academic standards, and watching you be the students that make CTA-Independence proud. Go Hawks!!

    My Education and Professional Background

    I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University in the spring of 2000. Once I completed my teaching degree, I taught in private education for seven years in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. In 2006, I received my Master's degree from Northern Arizona University. CTA-Independence became my home in 2007 where I currently teach 4th grade. I love being a piece of an amazing instructional team!

    My Educational Philosophy

    "I believe every person is born with talent." Maya Angelo. It is in this statement that my philosophy begins. Talent is within all of us and, as a teacher, it is my job to bring it out. Every day I get to teach is another opportunity I get to learn from my students. My classroom is a place that thrives with creative energy. I believe it is a place where all feel welcome and are able to gather and feel heard. It is a place where the academic envelope is pushed and high expectations are supported. I believe that the families of my students hold the most important role and together, we establish a foundation of excellence.
