    Welcome!

The CTA-Independence technology classroom is a vibrant and dynamic space where students engage in hands-on learning experiences that inspire curiosity and creativity. At CTA-Independence, we believe that technology is a powerful tool for learning and exploration, and we are committed to equipping our students with the skills and knowledge they need to become confident and responsible digital citizens.

The TechLab is a place where students are encouraged to take risks and think critically, to collaborate with their peers, and explore the world around them. As a teacher, I believe in fostering a growth mindset and promoting a love of learning that extends beyond the classroom.

At the heart of my classroom vision is the belief that technology can be a force for good in the world. I am committed to teaching students in kindergarten through sixth grade to use technology responsibly, to be mindful of their digital footprint, and to engage in respectful and responsible online communication.

I am fortunate to be preparing future generations fo digital citizens who are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to navigate the ever-changing landscape of technology. I believe that our students have the potential to be leaders in the digital world. I am committed to providing them with the tools and support they need to realize their full potential.

    My Education and Professional Background

I graduated from High School in 2000 from Lake Washington High School in Bellevue, Washington. I have a Bachelor's of Arts in Education from Arizona State University. I was a student orientation leader, a resident assistant, a student-athlete, was the elected official for the College of Education for ASU's Student Government and graduated with honors in December 2004. I also volunteered as a diving coach for the Sun Devil Divers program.

In 2009, with one infant in tow, I walked in the commencement ceremony in Flagstaff, and graduated Magna Cum Laude with my Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University. Adam and I welcomed our second child to our lives soon after in 2010.

I have been teaching in the Chandler Unified School District since January of 2005. My positions to date include: third grade classic, third grade traditional, 4th grade traditional, Technology Integration Specialist at Basha Elementary and sixth grade traditional with an emphasis in social science content.

    My Educational Philosophy

I believe in your child and high expectations. I believe in the power of yet. I believe in bad days and better tomorrows. I believe in hard questions and not always knowing the answers.
