    Welcome to Arizona College Preparatory High’s Visual Arts. Throughout these courses, students will use personal expression, art criticism, art history, and the Elements and Principles of Design, to investigate aspects of studio production.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I attended Purdue University and earned a Bachelor's degree in Art History and Fine Arts. I attended Arizona State University for a Master's in Education. I meet the highly qualified requirements set by the State of Arizona and also hold an SEI endorsement. I worked as a visual arts teacher through Chandler Unified School District at ACP-Erie and ACP Oakland. 

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe that the more important aspect of being an artist is to have the desire to create. Desire is the driving force in success. The job of an educator is to ensure that every student can tap into this desire and has the opportunity to reach their full potential. This is achieved through appropriate individualized supports and respect. Respect must be felt in the classroom environment with peers and teacher interactions. I have developed a program that fosters respect. Respect creates a safe environment where students can express themselves while obtaining high rigor and relevance within their work.
