    Welcome!

    My name is Kara Casey-Kane and I am excited to be part of the Kindergarten team this year! Since my name is quite the tongue twister, I have the students just call me Mrs. Kane. I know this school year will be a fun-filled learning adventure for not only the students but for me as well. I am looking forward to being part of the Sanborn Suns team this year and watching our Suns shine!

    My Education and Professional Background

    I received my Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University and completed my Early Childhood Education teaching certification at Rio Salado College. I have worked in various positions in education since 1999, with the majority of that time helping preschoolers and kindergarteners as they begin their educational journey. Along the way, I have worked in Montessori classrooms as well as inclusion classrooms that blend learners of all levels and abilities working together.

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe all students are able to learn at their own pace in their own time. When given encouragement and the tools they need to succeed, the sky is the limit for all my students. Hands on learning is much more powerful and long lasting, so I encourage exploration and critical thinking skills in our activities. Believing in my students fosters them having confidence in their own abilities.
