    My Education and Professional Background

    I have been teaching General Music at Sanborn Elementary since 2006. All three of my children attended Sanborn K-6, so I have a deep love for Sanborn! I have also taught Choir and Social Studies at the junior high school level and Sociology, Choir, Class Piano, Music Appreciation, and Civics at the high school level. I have a Bachelor of Vocal Music from the University of Arizona.

    My Educational Philosophy

    It is my belief that my job is to teach the individual, not just my subject content. Music encompasses so many other subjects that many of my lessons naturally become social studies, math, or science lessons. My goal is to model life long learning through reading and studying about many different subjects.

    As mentioned above, all three of my children attended Sanborn for Kindergarten through Sixth Grade. My children all received an excellent education and made life-long friends. Sanborn does a great job of teaching not only the academics, but also the Character Pillars and social skills to help children succeed in both school and life.
