    Welcome! I am so excited to be part of the Sanborn community. You will learn so much this year and hopefully have fun along the way!

    My Education and Professional Background

    I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Central Michigan University in 1999. My major was in Child Development and my minor was in Language Arts. While I was there I was fortunate enough to complete half of my student teaching experience in Perth, Australia. I taught in Michigan for two years before moving to Arizona in 2001. I received my Master’s Degree from NAU in 2005 in Elementary Education with a reading endorsement. I have taught first, second, third, fourth and fifth grades in my teaching journey.

    My Educational Philosophy

    I strive to create a warm, caring, structured learning environment for all students. I want my students to feel safe and comfortable so that they will take risks in their learning and feel successful on a daily basis. I believe all children are capable of success and will rise to the top when challenged.
