RiggsElementary School

Welcome to our Riggs Website. I am Mrs. Amy Miller. I am originally from Dayton, Ohio.  I moved to sunny Arizona to attend Arizona State University…(GO DEVILS) and received a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education.  While in my first year of teaching, in the great state of Arizona, I earned my master's from Northern Arizona University in Elementary Education. 

I have lived in the east valley for more than 20 years with my husband and our three wonderful children, Kate, Kylie, and Thomas.  In our spare time, we love to go up north and enjoy the great outdoors.  Gardening, swimming, cycling, and reading are a few of my favorite things.   

I take great pride in knowing that my students are experiencing success and enjoy learning.  Teachers are in the position of being able to have a lifelong impact on their students and I want to be able to make a positive difference in the lives of children.  Since I was young, I have had the desire to be a teacher.  This desire continues to grow stronger and through my experiences working with children, I have realized my dedication to the teaching profession.  For me, being a teacher is not so much a choice, it is my calling.
