Welcome to Riggs Elementary Pre- Kindergarten. My name is Saira Urbina, and I will be your child's teacher this year. This will be an exciting year full of learning, discovery, and exploration.
My Education and Professional Background
I have a bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies and a master's degree in Cross-Cultural Teaching with an endorsement in Early Childhood and English as a Second Language. My experience begins with teaching kindergarten with Roosevelt School District in 2011 and then transitioning over to Preschool with Chandler Unified. I've been teaching at Riggs Elementary since July 2017 and love it.
My Educational Philosophy
Preschool is such an important time in a child's life. This is the place where they will learn through discovery, explorations, and interactions with peers. Our classroom will be a place where all ideas are welcome so that we may learn from each other. I can not wait to see the growth that happens this year!
