About
Hankinson...
Welcome to 4th grade at Riggs Elementary School. This is an amazing school and I look forward to helping your child learn and grow. We are going to have a fantastic year!
My Education and Professional Background
This will be my 15th year teaching and my 12th year here at Riggs. I have taught second, third, fourth, and fifth grade. I love learning so it is pretty exciting to have a career that allows me to share what I love. I have a Bachelor and a Masters degree in education from Ottawa University and a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Arizona State University (Go Devils!).
My Educational Philosophy
Each student has unique, individual strengths and is a valued part of our learning community. Learning is a lifelong adventure and my goal is to instill a love of learning in all of my students. I believe it is important to create and maintain a positive, caring, and engaging learning environment where students feel respected, appreciated, and safe. In our classroom, we respect each other, we try our best, we are a team, we learn from mistakes, and we celebrate each other’s success.
