About
Meyn...
Welcome to 6th Grade at Riggs Elementary. My name is Victoria Meyn and I am thrilled to be your teacher this year! I grew up in a small town in northeastern Pennsylvania, where my entire family still resides. My husband (who is also a CUSD teacher) and I, along with our 2 sons, travel back to visit as often as possible. In my free time, I love vacationing on the beach in San Diego with my family or spending time in our kitchen baking!
My Education and Professional Background
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, with a minor in reading and Biology. I began teaching kindergarten in 1998 in inner-city Philadelphia, before heading out west. I was fortunate to receive a position with CUSD in 2001 and have been with the district ever since. I have taught kindergarten, first, second, third and fifth grades!
My Educational Philosophy
'Work Hard and Be Nice'. Our class motto stems from my philosophy of education. If you give 100% every day (hard work and respect), you can and will be successful. It is my goal to help students discover their passion for learning through interactive and challenging experiences where they can explore their true potential at their own pace and level. Through collaboration with their peers and teacher, students will see endless opportunities unfold before their eyes.
