    Welcome!

    Hello, my name is Christine Tryon Rice.

    This is my seventeenth year of teaching and 11 of those years are with the Chandler Unified School District.

    I am a parent (including my fur baby Zeus), grandparent, and wife. I have a wonderful family which I love to spend time with as well as some of my other passions, traveling, reading, and enjoying my friends.

    Teaching is my second career after working in the healthcare field for 24 years. Teaching was a lifelong passion which I was finally able to fulfill in 2007, and as luck would have it, I began with my first class in 4th grade. During my teaching career I have taught grades, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th. It has been a wonderful time in my life, and I look forward to my second year at Riggs Elementary.

    Most importantly, I am also looking forward to getting to know everyone both students and parents!

    This is going to be another great year at Riggs!

    My Education and Professional Background

    My education began many years ago at Fullerton College in California in pursuit of my Bachelor of Science in Business Management. During the course of my studies, I realized that business is not where my heart lies.  I always hoped to become a teacher, so I decided to go back to school and obtain my Masters of Arts degree in Elementary Education.  I completed my studies at the University of Phoenix in 2007.
