    Welcome!

    First grade is a huge year of learning and growth for your child, and I am thrilled to be able to be part of it.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I was, also, a teacher trainer for a county in suburban Detroit, assisting teachers in developing optimal language arts instruction in their classrooms. I am the English Language Development Coordinator for Riggs, the DIBELS coordinator and am Dyslexia certified.  I have my bachelor's degree in Education from Central Michigan University, my master's degree in Early Childhood Education from Wayne State University in Detroit, and my National Board Certificate. We moved to Arizona in 2006 and love the weather.

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe that First grade should be taught in a safe, comfortable and caring environment. We will work together to create a community in our class where we can work together and respect one another. I intend to provide learning experiences that are exciting, challenging, and positive for every student. First grade is about academics, as well as social growth.
