My Educational Philosophy

I believe that a respectful and caring relationship along with open communication with children and their families are the vital foundation for a wonderful kindergarten experience. I look for ways to personalize learning and engage the child's imagination. My high expectations for learning keep my students (and myself) challenged and reflective. I believe in hands-on learning and multiple 'ways of knowing and doing' while promoting creative and higher-order thinking. I believe that my students deserve to be in an environment where they feel safe and can take risks in learning. I want them to be in a caring community, 'a school family', where they feel valued, celebrated, and can develop a love of learning!
