High Frequency Words
Sight Word Activities-
Make sight word flashcards and hang them on your refrigerator. Review them daily.

Play "Hide the Words". Hide the words around a room. Child has 3 minutes to find the words. Child must bring words to you and read them. Child keeps all of the words read correctly. Let your child trade each known word for a treat.

Make 2 sets of word cards and play memory. When your child turns over 2 matching words, he/she must say the word to keep the pair.

Write 2 or 3 sight words on a sheet of paper. As you read a story to your child, have him/her make a tally mark by the word every time you read it. Talk about how many times the word was used in the story.

Play BINGO with the words. BINGO template

Make 2 sets of word cards and play go fish. Your child must be able to read the words to ask for cards :)

"Read" the newspaper or magazines and highlight sight words.
- Build sight words on the fridge with magnet letters.
- Build sight words with play-doh.
- Put a sight word on each door in your house. To enter or exit the room the child must read the word correctly. Swap out the words as your child masters them.
- Spell sight words in the air with your finger.
- Search for sight words on signs while driving in the car.
