    Welcome!

    Welcome and get ready to embark on a mission. A mission to make 5th grade the best year yet! We will undergo rigorous training as we MASTER our skills and reach for the STARS! I am excited to join you on this journey and cannot wait to see what this school year has in store.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I have been teaching at Santan since 2014 and I am excited to have the opportunity to be part of such a great school and community. I began teaching in 2006. I taught 4th grade in Gilbert for eight years before becoming a Santan Stormer. I received my degree in elementary education from Arizona State University. I also have a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix, and I am one class away from receiving my master's in Leadership and Administration from Northern Arizona University.

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe in a classroom environment in which children have an active voice in their learning. I encourage students to embrace their differences and to be proud in who they are. All students are unique and have different learning styles and I try to adapt to those styles in my instruction. I also believe that we should always strive to be the best we can be each day in terms of how we treat others, the effort we put forth, and in the things we say and do.
