    Welcome!

    My name is Katrina Delsante and I have been teaching 6th grade at Santan Elementary since 2017. I am a New Jersey native and a Penn State University graduate. My husband and I have three children and all of them are former CUSD students.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I have a B.S. in Marketing from Penn State University and received my Post-Baccalaureate Degree in Elementary Education in May 2017. Teaching is a second career for me. Upon graduating Penn State, I worked in New York as an executive in the buying offices of two high-end luxury retailers. After leaving NYC behind, I was stay-at-home mom for many years until I re-entered the workforce in education.

    My Educational Philosophy

    My philosophy in the classroom is to encourage students to discover their natural strengths and to use those strengths as a foundation for areas in need of further development. In Room 12 we work hard but we find time to laugh. We build from our natural abilities but take risks by stepping out of our comfort zones. We celebrate our differences but also work together as a community. Sixth grade, the bridge between elementary school and junior high, is a unique year filled with new experiences and elevated expectations. I am honored to be a part of this extraordinary time in a student’s life.
