    About Mrs. Ross...

I'm looking forward to a great school year with your children! This will be my 19th year teaching at Santan. I love Santan and the wonderful community and the people I get to work with each day. This school is awesome, it truly feels like a home away from home. Our staff is welcoming, understanding, considerate and fair. Most of us here are parents ourselves, so we know how precious and what a true gift your kiddo's are - we have their best interests at heart.  Please know I'm here to help. Reach out if you ever need anything!

I am an Arizona native and live here in Chandler.  I am married to a very funny guy named Mike and we have four boys. Dale, our oldest, attends NAU, Jack is a junior at Basha High, Cam is in 7th at Santan JH and Louie, who is in 2nd grade.  In the rare opportunity that I'm not driving kids all over the place,  I like to be with friends and family, be outside, enjoy a fun night out or in with a mean game of cards - we love games. (your teacher is competitive - especially when it comes to school contests!)

I strive to have a classroom that I would have wanted to be in when I was a 3rd grader and to treat your children like I would want someone to treat my own.  I really do run my classroom like a team -my job is to take care of them and their job is to take care of each other. It is understood that school is a place to practice, not to be perfect! We also respect each other - kindness matters. This is a HUGE year of growth and it's not uncommon for a few tears in the first month as kids are feeling the pressure of being treated like an older student.  I promise we'll get them there with a little tough love and a hug. We'll only ask them to do what we feel is achievable for a 3rd grader.  Once through it, they'll be so proud of their growth, new found abilities and big kid responsibilities.

Teaching is by far the best job - there is an adventure waiting for me every day! Please know I'm here to help and my door is always open : )

I'm really looking forward to a fun and educational year with your child.
