Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Gardner

I am a native of Arizona.  I graduated from Gilbert High School.  I received my Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Science from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas and my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Arizona University. I began my teaching career in 1st and 2nd grade in Ft. Worth, TX.  I have been teaching at Santan Elementary since 2005.

When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband Randy, our four children, and two beautiful granddaughters. Kayla along with her daughters Olivia and Tinsley live here in Phoenix. Zach, our oldest son is a graduate of Perry High School.   My daughter, Grace, is a graduate of ACP high school. And last but not least, my son Cody, is a student at Perry High School.  We love to read, watch sports, play Rock Band, spend time at our family's cabin and play dominoes.

I feel strongly that reading is the foundation of all learning and students should take time to read each day.  I also believe that it takes a village to help students meet their full potential and every student is capable of learning.  It is the job of teachers and parents to model, encourage, set high expectations, and praise students through the learning process.   I look forward to working with you and your child this year.
