• Kindergarten Homework

The CUSD policy for Kindergarten homework is 10 minutes per night.  Each month I will send home a reading log.  Please read with your child every night and write down the book title on the reading log.  Reading with your child is very important and will help your child to build a love of reading and books.  Take the time to discuss the story with your child and ask questions that make your child think about the book and what he or she has read.  Some questions that you can ask are: What do you think will happen next?  Which character is your favorite?  What was your favorite part of the story?  Can you retell the story?  Return the reading log at the end of the month and your child will receive a pass to go to Mrs. Lander's office to pick out a pencil.

In the second semester I will also send home a monthly homework calendar.  The homework calendar has daily activities that are based on our academic standards.   These activities can be adjusted to fit your child's specific academic needs; feel free to adjust them as needed to challenge your child.  Just initial the calendar each night and return it at the end of the month.
