    Welcome!

    Welcome to Hancock Elementary! As an elementary school counselor, it is my responsibility to be a support person for each child to help them in their learning journey. The reason we go to school is to learn, and to do this you must to focused and alert. Our emotions can many times effect our focus, so it is important we know how to manage our emotions to keep us focused for learning. I can help children with their focus, sometimes through individual sessions, small group instructional sessions, and sometimes through classroom supports and instruction. I am here to help, so just let me know if you need assistance.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I have 40 years of educational experience in the state of Iowa, as a teacher, counselor, and principal.  This is my 4th year in Arizona working as a counselor again.  I have a BS degree in teaching from the University of Iowa, an MA degree in counseling from the University of Northern Iowa, and an MA degree in educational administration from Iowa State University. 

    My Educational Philosophy

    My mission is "If Better is Possible, then Good is Never Enough." I believe in ALL MEANS ALL, in that every child that is at Hancock Elementary can be successful and that is our responsibility. As educators, we are here to support and guide students through their journey towards success.
