Welcome!
Welcome to Mrs. Pep's page! I so happy to be a part of the Hancock team and am looking forward to a wonderful year of learning together!
My Education and Professional Background
I've been lucky to have taught for almost 20 years in some amazing places and school environments with the best educators around! In 2005, I graduated from Northern Arizona University with my B.A. in elementary education and special education. I completed my student teaching overseas in Vicenza, Italy, which was an amazing and enriching experience both professionally and personally. I began teaching 6th grade the following year and never looked back! In 2008, I obtained my Masters in curriculum and instruction and continued teaching 6th grade at Conley Elementary for the next 12 years. In 2016, I had the opportunity to develop and teach the K-6th grade STEM program at Conley Elementary. In 2020, I joined the Elementary Connect team at COA teaching 6th grade, and am thrilled to be at Hancock Elementary this year!
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that all children can learn, grow and achieve in the proper learning environment. My goal is to continuously support and challenge my students to become critical thinkers, problems solvers, and know that they can achieve anything they dream with hard work, perseverance, and a GROWTH MINDSET! I love being that safe place for students to take risks and know that the sky is never the limit. I strive to build relationships and make connections to ensure I am allowing my students to explore their passions and find their voice. By exercising flexibility, compassion, and respect, I know that we will have a fantastic year of learning and growing together!
