    Greetings! Welcome to 4th Grade at Hancock Elementary. I'm Marissa Ortega and I am thrilled to get to know and learn with you this year. Please use this webpage to help answer questions or to check for specific dates or instructions throughout the year. I am looking forward to an exciting and enriching school year with you!

    My Education and Professional Background

    I have been teaching since 2006 and have spent those years teaching in 4th grade. I love the community that is Hancock Elementary. It is refreshing and comforting to work with such an amazing staff, parents, and students. We all work together to help each child become a successful learner.

    My Educational Philosophy

    I am originally from Long Beach, California, but have lived in Arizona since the 4th grade! I grew up in Scottsdale and graduated from ASU. Go Devils!!! My husband and I, have an adorable daughter and a cute black lab that definitely make life so much fun!!! We love to travel and are usually headed to California to visit family and spend time with Mickey and Minnie Mouse at Disneyland. I absolutely LOVE Disney! In my spare time, I love to spend time with family and friends, play games, watch movies, exercise, and attempt baking recipes from Pinterest.
