    Welcome!

    Hello my name is Mrs. Ellinwood and I am looking forward to a fun and exciting academic school year. I will strive to create a positive learning community through my enthusiasm and unique ideas. I am eager to work and help your child succeed in my classroom.

    My Education and Professional Background

    Throughout school I studied for two years in Elementary Education and received my Bachelors degree in Sports Management from Arizona State University. I also received my Masters degree in Early Childhood Education. I was previously a dance teacher for children ages 3-17 and also gained experience by being an aide in many kindergarten and preschool classrooms. When looking at my teaching philosophy I consider the classroom community a learning family. In the accelerated kindergarten program your child will be working to master all kindergarten and first grade skills by the conclusion of the year. We will work quickly and efficiently to review kindergarten material at the beginning of the year and then transition into full first grade curriculum.

    My Educational Philosophy

    It is my goal to help your child reach their academic objectives, while at the same time maintaining a love for learning. I love to incorporate music, movement, creative art and many other techniques to address each childs style of learning. My hope for your child is to give them a foundation in reading and writing to help them to succeed in their future learning environments. My classroom is an exciting place to grow as a student. I hope that if you have any questions you will feel free to ask at any time, the door is always open!
