    Welcome!

    Hello and welcome to third grade! My name is Mrs. Shafer. I am thrilled to be a part of your child’s education and am looking forward to partnering with you and your family this year!! It is going to be a great year in THIRD GRADE here at Hancock Elementary School!!!

    My Education and Professional Background

    This is my 15th year working as an educator. I have a bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education from Northern Arizona University. I am originally from Flagstaff, Arizona and am new to Chandler!

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe the purpose of education is to provide each and every child an environment in which students can learn, discover and grow as an individual. My role as an educator is to facilitate the learning process and to provide a safe, secure and engaging learning environment. Students in my class will be held to high expectations and will feel welcomed, respected and cared for!
