    Welcome!

Hello! My name is Cassidy Stevens and I am overjoyed to be teaching 4th grade this year. I had the incredible privilege of completing my student teaching at Knox Gifted Academy. This allowed me to teach some of the brightest young minds and led me to become a teacher here! Bringing my insight from teaching 5th grade, I Am sure this year will be a blast.
In my free time, I enjoy exploring coffee shops, playing games with my friends, and indulging my habit of buying new plants for which I have no space.

    My Education and Professional Background

I am so excited about my second year of teaching gifted students! Before coming to Weinberg, I graduatied from the Mary Lou Fulton’s Teaching College. My two years of  student teaching were completed at Knox Gifted Academy, Carlson Elementary, and ASU Prep Digital. I have worked with Kindergarten and 5th grade students. I have also had the pleasure of being a ministry leader for 5th and 6th grade students. I will be working towards my Gifted endorsement in the state of Arizona.

    My Educational Philosophy

School is more than a place for education. School is a home away from home for many of our students. I strive to create an environment where my students feel free to grow emotionally, socially, and academically. I encourage my students to get out of their comfort bubbles and dig deeper, knowing that they are in a safe space to explore. I will fight to provide an environment where students are free to take risks and fail, knowing that we often learn much more from failure than success. I am a big believer in the idea that students gain better understanding when they have a choice in their own education. Giving options to our students empowers them to take charge of their own learning.
