Welcome to Weinberg Gifted Academy in the Chandler Unified School District, the premier district of choice!

Weinberg Gifted Academy (WGA) is a non-attendance boundary school that will offer a challenging curriculum for those students who qualify. All who are interested in attending WGA must apply through Open Enrollment and must have qualifying scores in order to be eligible for gifted programming.

  • Parents of students eligible to receive gifted services who are considering Weinberg Gifted Academy can call our front office at 480-812-6600 to request a campus tour for the prospective WGA student and their parents (we ask that parents do not bring other siblings and family members).

  • Subject: Information regarding Elementary Open Enrollment/Boundary Exemption for 2023-2024

    This information is for Open Enrollment/Boundary Exemption for the 2023-2024 school year. If your student is currently attending Weinberg Gifted Academy on an Open Enrollment/Boundary Exemption and will return to Weinberg Gifted Academy, NO need to re-apply for an Open Enrollment/Boundary Exemption for the 2024-2025 school year. You will complete the online Student Intent Return form that we will send via email in January.

    An Open Enrollment/Boundary Exemption is ONLY needed if you wish to request a different school for your student(s). The online Open Enrollment/Boundary Exemption Application will be available beginning Monday, January 8th at 7:30 a.m. Visit www.cusd80.com/elementaryopenenrollment for more information regarding Open Enrollment/Boundary Exemption for the 2024-2025 school year.

    Once an Open Enrollment/Boundary Exemption Application is accepted, continuing Open Enrollment/Boundary Exemption is subject to review each year without reapplication if continuing at enrolled site.

Open Enrollment

  • Arizona state law allows students to apply for admission and Chandler Unified School District maintains this through Open Enrollment to most schools, based on available classroom space. If you are interested in attending a school other than your attendance boundary school, you must apply and be accepted through Open Enrollment before you can register. Failure to complete the Open Enrollment application will place your student's registration on HOLD.
