Welcome to Art!
My Education and Professional Background
I love learning. I am a new teacher full of life and spunk! I graduated high school with 9 AP credits in the arts. In BYU-Idaho, I studied Art, Art History and Spanish and graduated with my Bachelor's in 2015. Since then I have lived and taught abroad in Chile, studied modern art in Los Angeles, flown to Spain and seen Master artworks by Picasso, Goya, Velazquez and others. I have taught drawing, painting, and ceramics in Las Vegas, Spanish in Queen Creek, and now I am happily teaching art in Basha High!
My Educational Philosophy
Education is conducive to a successful life. Art is essential to enjoying life. Art education is my life. I am a student-centered teacher. After all, I wouldn't be here if it weren't for them. Being a part of an art community is about growth of skill, self-confidence, focus, creativity, perception, and so much more. My job is first, to begin class with an inviting atmosphere and through classroom management, maintain a supportive tone; second, instruct; third, to guide them through the process of creating their project: fourth, evaluate how successfully they followed the instructions, and suggest improvements they can make for the next project. Together, we make ourselves and our small part of the world better.
