Welcome!
Welcome to Early Childhood Education! On this website you will find information on the courses I teach: Early Childhood Education 1, Early Childhood Education 2, Early Childhood Education 3, and Early Childhood Education 4. I also teach one section of Culinary Arts I. I am so excited to start a new year and welcome new and familiar faces. Let the learning adventure begin!
My Education and Professional Background
This is my 16th year at Basha High. I have been in the Early Childhood Education field for over 20 years, working in private preschools, childcare centers, and elementary schools in addition to operating my own business. I have two Arizona teaching certificates- Early Childhood Education and Career and Technical Education. I have been awarded The Child Development Associate Credential (CDA), earned a Bachelor of Science Degree, concentrating in Early Childhood Development and Leadership, and completed a Master of Education Degree in Early Childhood Education. Additionally, I have previously taught other courses, such as Life Connections, AVID, Education Professions, and Fashion Design.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that every student is unique and with guidance and support can use their special gifts and talents to make a difference in themselves and our world. It is my desire to make sure that my classroom is conducive to establishing high standards and goals for all students that enter my classroom by incorporating hands-on and minds-on activities that activate prior knowledge and student engagement. My ultimate goal is to emphasize the importance of education and instill in my students a love of learning as well as a desire to become life long learners.
