    COURSE DESCRIPTION:
    Grades 9-12 Full year, 1 credit

    Early Childhood Education I This course addresses basic child development, health & safety, observation skills as well as careers in early childhood professions.

    EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION LAB:

    child coloring Students enrolled in the Early Childhood Education Program will participate in internship/lab experiences with the Basha Lil' Explorers Childcare. A separate permission form and student handbook will be presented before entering the childcare component of the program. During the childcare lab experience component of the class, students are expected to:

    • Conduct themselves professionally
    • Dress appropriately
    • Follow policies and procedures of the childcare
    • Maintain confidentiality
    • Be on time

    Students, who do not follow the above guidelines, will be counseled and parents will be contacted.  Students, who do not conduct themselves in a professional manner, may be excluded from the lab experience temporarily or permanently and will have to complete alternative assignments. Internships are part of the student's grade. Tardies and absences affect grades.

    Please note that students must have a TB test before entering the childcare center or have a current record (within 1 year) of a negative TB test on file.

    DUAL ENROLLMENT:
