    Welcome!

Erica Davis has been teaching at Basha High School for 19 years. She currently teaches AP Literature 12 and Honors English 10 with AP Seminar. She loves to write, travel, and spend time with her husband Kyle, 9-year-old son, Emerson, and her 7-year-old daughter, Autumn.

    My Education and Professional Background

Mrs. Davis graduated from Arizona State University Master's of Curriculum and Instruction in 2008 after completing her Post-Baccalaureate Education Degree in 2005.

She graduated from Colorado College with a Bachelor's In English in 2003.

Mrs. Davis most recently achieved National Board Certification in Adolescent and Young Adult English Language Arts in 2018 and renewed in 2022.

    My Educational Philosophy

I find that staying positive is the best way to motivate students, and I try to keep students engaged and interested in English through my enthusiasm, love, and knowledge. Education doesn't end with senior year, so I hope that my students will leave my classroom not feeling like they have learned it all, but that they are just beginning to learn and that they become curious about all subjects through exploration in English. As for AP Seminar, I know that not all students learn the same way, and this class provides opportunity for individual educational pursuits. I hope to build the Seminar students' confidence and knowledge as well as their college skill sets to assure preparation for academic learning on the next level.

The Choice is Yours! Why Choose Basha High?

Basha High is my home away from home. I love being a part of our campus culture where excellence is a habit. We have great students who are creative, musical, leaders, athletes, and good people. When they graduate, they are successful and accomplishing so much. I have spent my entire career here, and there is a reason for that. You will often find me sitting on the sidelines or in the audience to support my students and the campus activities. It couldn't be a better time to BE A BEAR!
