About
Reed...
Hello! I am excited to be your child's teacher this year.
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from ASU with a BA degree in Secondary Education/English. I began my teaching career in GUSD and taught 8th grade reading, English and Honors English. Additionally, I was NJHS sponsor, English Department Chair, NC Steering Comm. Chair, and coached both cheer and dance line. Now, I am a proud Basha Bear that loves teaching both 6th & 7th grade Language Arts.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe in empowering students to be their best selves, by creating a positive and supportive environment; where students are eager to learn, grow, and engage in their education. I also believe in challenging my students by setting standards with consistent and high expectations. I want to instill in my students a strong work ethic, ignite a love of reading and writing, and strengthen their confidence and ability as an English/language arts student as well as a person who will make a difference in the world.
