Mrs. Erica Davis is in her 19th year of teaching at Basha High School. She currently teaches Advanced Placement Literature and Composition for 12th grade, an Honors English 10 combination with AP Seminar for AP Capstone, but has taught English 10, English 12, and Honors English 9 previously. She achieved National Board Certification in Adolescent and Young Adult English Language Arts (AYA-ELA) in 2018 and renewed in 2022. Along with her classroom responsibilities, she works with other teachers in the district and state to help support their pursuit of National Board Certification.

Mrs. Davis' favorite part of teaching is helping to spread her enthusiasm for literature to the students, and helping all her students to become lifelong readers and lovers of literature for the connections they can make between what they read and what they experience in life.

Mrs. Davis received her Bachelor's in English from Colorado College, and her Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from Arizona State University.

Personally, Mrs. Davis and her husband Kyle enjoy traveling, hiking, camping, and generally enjoying an active and outdoor lifestyle. She is an avid reader and writer, and hopes to publish her writing some day. Her son, Emerson (named for the famous transcendentalist author) will be in 4th grade this year and turns 10 in October. He expresses himself in language that seems far too mature for his own age. Her daughter, Autumn, never stops singing and performing. She will be eight years old in January and is in 2nd grade.
