Welcome!
Welcome to Computer Science! Computing affects almost all aspects of modern life. I am glad you have signed up for AP Computer Science Principles and you are interested in developing solutions to help improve life and the world around you. Let’s start our journey to work together and prepare you to pursue the wide array of opportunities that computing has made possible.
My Education and Professional Background
I have B.S. and M.S. degrees in Thermal Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China, and earned my Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Rhode Island in 2001. Since then, I worked as an engineer in the software industry, HVAC industry and semiconductor industry for 14 years. In February of 2021, I became a teacher at Hamilton High School and started to teach AP Computer Science Principles. I am very happy to be an educator because I love working with students and being part of their growth. I look forward to working with you all!
My Educational Philosophy
High school is an important period in life for students to explore their areas of interests. I believe a strong interest is a great motivator for them to learn and thrive. As an educator I will do my best to activate my students’ love of learning each day and provide guidance and support in their journey of learning and creating a platform for students to leap into a successful future.
