    Welcome!

Hi! My name is Jennifer Pollnow, and I am currently the Advanced Placement teacher for US History at Hamilton High School. I am entering my 19th year in education. I am from the great state of Wisconsin, so yes, I am an avid Wisconsin sports fan and love all things Wisconsin. I taught 8.5 years in Wisconsin before moving to Arizona. In Wisconsin, I taught Western Civilization, government, US History, and AP Human Geography.

My husband and I moved to Arizona in 2013. We love it here, especially because we do not have to deal with the brutal Wisconsin winters anymore! Plus, we get to see our beloved Brewers during spring training in March. Our two children were born here in Arizona. We have one son who is entering second grade and a daughter who is entering 3K. We also are cat parents to our crazy cat Lambeau!

During the 2023-2024 school year, I will be teaching all AP US History. I am excited for the year and cannot wait to meet my students!

    My Educational Philosophy

My educational philosophy is centered around a student driven classroom. I believe that students should be active participants in the learning process and have the ability to succeed in my classroom. I try to always maintain a safe, comfortable learning environment where everyone's voice is heard. However, I also strongly feel that students who put the most effort in my class will also receive the most out of it. My goal is for every student to make a positive connection learning about differing aspects in history and hope students can use this information in the future to become a better citizen and person.
