    Welcome!

Welcome to Chemistry at Hamilton High School! Chemistry is the study of matter, its properties, how and why substances combine or separate to form other substances, and how substances interact with energy. Many people think of chemists as being white-coated scientists mixing strange liquids in a laboratory, but the truth is we are all chemists. You will learn as the year progresses that chemical concepts are an integral part of understanding the world that we live in.

    My Education and Professional Background

I have earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from UNLV in Nevada and a Masters in Secondary Education from University of Phoenix here in Arizona. I have taken several graduate classes at ASU and MSU to maintain my dual enrollment certification. Learning, improving, and becoming educated is a life-long journey! As one of the people I admire most from the scientific community once said, "Education is not the learning of facts but the TRAINING of the mind to THINK" - Albert Einstein.

    My Educational Philosophy

I have passionate belief in the importance of family, hard work, respect, kindness, and patriotism! I love our country and believe we should be working very diligently to take care of our planet as well as each other. I love my job! I look forward to coming to work every day, and I believe that high school can be the most amazing time in a person's life. I hope to contribute to that experience in a positive way by encouraging responsibility, integrity, knowledge, friendship, and goal setting. . If I could change one thing about the mindset of most students in my classroom these past few years, it would be that the focus would shift from the score in the gradebook to a love and appreciation for learning. Let’s wonder and investigate and learn together! #HUSKYPROUD
