Welcome!
Welcome to Hamilton High School! I am looking forward to an exciting school year. I have been teaching in the district since 2008 and am so happy to now be teaching at Hamilton High School. I love being able to work with the students at the high school level and have a part in helping them prepare students to be successful in their academic, personal and professional lives. I am privileged to be a part of this amazing school!
My Education and Professional Background
I grew up in Washington D.C. and moved to Arizona in 1994. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design in 1986 from Mt. Vernon College (which is now part of George Washington University) in Washington D.C. In 2008 I decided to go back to school to earn a Post Baccalaureate from Rio Salado College in Special Education. After earning my Post Baccalaureate I went on to complete my Master Degree in the Exceptional Child at Northcentral University in 2012.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that all children should be given every opportunity to learn. Each child has the capability to be successful no matter what their ability level may be. Children need a safe nurturing environment to help them feel safe sharing, gain a sense of community, learn to accept others for who they are, all the while gaining the confidence to reach their personnel potential. As a teacher I do my best to encourage and instill in them to strive for their highest potential.
