What is the Medical Professions CTE Program?
Posted by:Medical Professions/Nursing Services is a CTE (Career & Technical Education) program that provides students a comprehensive foundation of concepts and practices associated with patient care. Industry-recognized certifications are offered.
Graduates from the program will be eligible to earn their CNA or LNA upon graduation from high school, getting them started in the nursing field right after graduation. CNA certification is also required or highly encouraged for acceptance into many local nursing schools. Students interested in pursuing Medical School will have patient care and clinical hours to stand out on a Medical School application. Basic Life Support/CPR certification and Stop the Bleed hemorrhage care are also offered. We are expanding the amount of certifications we are offering as we grow our program, so stay tuned! In their senior year in Medical Professions II, they will attend clinicals and get hands-on, real experience with patient care. They will also have opportunities for community service hours, college and career preparation, scholarship, and leadership opportunities through our club, HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America).
Industry leaders at GCU and Dignity Health are saying "An essential program for pre-medical and pre-nursing students"
