Grading Policy: Students need to participate in all class work/projects and discussions. Students may receive Paraprofessional support and possibly help from Peer Facilitators (student aides). 80% classwork/projects and 20% final exam make up students’ grade for the semester, with 60% as a passing grade (40/40/20). Infinite Campus (Grade check): https://campus.cusd80.com/campus/portal/chandler.jsp
Please let me know of any specific needs regarding your student’s class assignments and homework.
Office Hours: Before or after school (7-7:20AM or 2:15-3:00 PM) by appointment. Students can also receive academic help/support during this time. Emails and phone calls will be returned within 24 hours.
Materials Needed: Students will need to have pencils (with eraser) daily. A folder to carry work to and from home will be helpful. Requests for items for special projects (e.g., a science or cooking project) are made on an as needed basis.
Food policy: Only water is allowed in the classroom during instruction. Specific dietary need for snacks/drinks can be discussed with the instructor. No gum allowed in class.
Bathroom policy: Students may use the bathroom with a pass only. Excessive use of the bathroom or time spent in the bathroom will result in parent notification. (This does not include any heath needs).
Use of cell phones/ technology: Students must turn off all cell phones and other technology (including gaming controllers, etc.) and it must be put away during instruction, unless specifically given permission for use. Miss Greenlee will collect phones in a phone holder bin that will always be in the front of the classroom. Excessive use of cell phones/headphones during instruction without teacher permission will result in:
1st warning: Ask to put away
2nd warning: Send email to parents, phone is taken to front office, and parent has to pick up
3rd warning: Referral is written
Attendance & Tardiness: Students are held to the district approved guidelines for excessive tardiness and absences. Students who miss more than 10 days of school during a semester may be dropped from school. Students consistently late to class may result in parent notification and school detention.
Expected Student Conduct:
- Be on time for class.
- Come prepared to class (assignments/materials).
- Be respectful to the teacher, paraprofessional, and each other in class.
- Use appropriate language and follow teacher directions.
- Do not leave the class without permission.
