Our program is so fortunate to be on a campus such as Basha High. We are a part of such a caring and considerate environment that everybody, from students to substitutes, custodial to administration all greet the children and make them feel safe and welcome. And it doesn't stop there...Early Childhood Education ClassesWe are extremely fortunate to be able to integrate lessons and learning planned and implemented by the Early Childhood Education high school students at BHS. Melanie Alexander's Early Childhood Education students are part of our Lil' Express classroom learning environment throughout the week. They provide enrichment activities that support lesson plans, working with our caregivers towards successful assignments for themselves and new experiences for our children. Their presence also allows many children the opportunity for individualized attention. Many of the students choose their early childhood education classes for dual college credit and those who are pursing a career working with children may be able to leave with the education and training hours needed to obtain their nationally recognized Child Development Associates credential.Early Childhood Education students may have the opportunity to be employed by CUSD at Lil' Express as Student Workers. They have the same professional responsibilities as our regular fulltime staff but work side by side with another caregiver in the rooms until graduation.FFAOur FFA program students assist with keeping our play areas tidy and teach our pre-k children about planting and growing vegetables in the playground garden boxes.SPEDThe kids from the Special Education classes take such good care of us! They deliver our mail and provide laundry services. We are grateful for their assistance in our program."Try not to have a good time, this is supposed to be educational."- Charles M Schultz
